I love photographing in downtown Raleigh. There are so many fun cute walls, buildings and even parks to photograph portrait sessions. Alison and Gavin were totally up for a little diversity in their session so we were off to downtown! They looked so comfortable in their session right from the beginning. They just seemed to fit right together like two puzzle pieces. Planning a wedding from out of town they have been reliant on the mothers to do most of the leg work but still enjoying the decisions of that leg work. I know they are grateful to their mothers for the help. For me personally, I can’t wait for the wedding! Sounds like it is going to be fabulous!
Here is a quick video with the highlights from Katie and Paul’s wedding at Forest Creek Golf Club. The bride and groom couldn’t have been happier except maybe for the photographer who was loving photographing this wedding! More to come on our next blog.
Set in the beautiful Duke Gardens this photographer photographed one of life’s small but important miracles-a wedding. This wedding was so touching. It was small in size and planned very close to the actual date but what was huge was the amount of love. It’s funny, even though most of it was planned fairly last minute, it literally all fell together perfectly. I don’t think Elyse could have been any luckier. One of those signs it is “MEANT TO BE”. I was so impressed by this couple. Not only was it clear their deep affection for each other but what touched me the most was my witness to the creation of a new family. Little A was SO excited for Jeff to become her Daddy. He not only put a ring on Elyse but also on little A. And I don’t think I have ever seen a bride smile bigger, EVER. Elyse was so happy that she finally had her perfect family. And Jeff was so proud to be the addition that made it whole. It’s funny how people can touch you so deeply in such a short period of time. I guess that is another one of the big reasons I love wedding photography. Congratulations to my new family. I am looking forward to watching you grow over the years!!!!!!!
Brad is athletic, fun and looks great on film (so to speak since we actually use digital). But the camera does love him. We had a ball running all over Raleigh photographing him for a modeling agency. We wanted to show how Brad looked in a lot of different types of situations. Needless to say we had a lot of fun getting all these different looks! I am guessing he is probably pretty popular with the girls at school. Just a hunch. ; ) Great job Brad!
I must say this was a fun fun wedding. There were so many cute parts, from the bride’s amazing smile, who it was very clear she got from her father, to the tears at the toast, to rocking out on the dance floor. This wedding had every emotion. The sappy photographers even cried at the toast. (Yes even after 10 years of weddings they still get to us.) Definitely one of those great weddings that had it all. Cydney Davis with the English Garden did the flowers and as usual she out did herself making them AMAZING. Nicole McMillen with Premier Party Planners, the wedding coordinator, was ON IT! Not only was she on top of everything but she also knew other peoples jobs and responsibilities so she could plan and advise accordingly. (This seems to be rare so if you on a lookout for a coordinator I highly recommend her.) The families we so kind and fun and it was clear they loved the bride and groom and were thrilled about the newest members of their family. The wedding party was a blast and we were just LOVING photographing this wedding. Not to mention we took them downtown to do some of those fun downtown wedding shots I LOVE! I may have gone a little overboard on the downtown wedding pictures but I couldn’t help myself! Thanks Melissa and Mark! The wedding was AWESOME and I LOVED photographing it and spending your special day with you both.

All you need is an unbelievably beautiful dress. A bridal party that loves you and makes you laugh all day long. A family that couldn’t be more overjoyed for you.
All you need is a beloved grandfather to walk you down the aisle. A groom who finds a way to fit your favorite Harry Potter paraphernalia…under your dress. An incredible toast from one brother to another. A great cake smash! Ending the night surrounded by friends, family…and sparklers.
Or maybe, as one very wise man once sang, All You Need Is Love.
So from one Beatles-loving heart to another, congratulations, Megan and Daniel. Your wedding day was perfection from beginning to end…set to really great music.
Oh sweet little baby J…. I love newborn photography but this one was special. This little guy came into the world a little late to meet his Grandma. It was a bittersweet gift but obviously more sweet. He was very cuddly and slept like an angel while we shot after shot. Mom was was so sweet and is so good with him. I can only imagine Daddy’s pride. I am just glad I was able to give them this little gift of our photo session to share with family and friends. Congrats again Katie & Ron. I love this little guy. : )
