So today started out pretty dull like you expect new year to start. Basically just filing things away, cleaning out old papers, paying bills and answering emails. But amongst the daily blah I was excited to design a less than traditional “Save the Date Card”. Being so close to the brides wedding date they decided not to send out traditional save the dates but instead with the invitation sent something a little more unique. The only direction from the bride was that she wanted to send something that was able to show maybe 3 of her favorite images. This is what we came up with to go out in her wedding invitations. I think it’s pretty cute and pretty unique and their guest will be getting a little something different.

The second half of my day was very fun! One of my past bride is pregnant and she’s in her eighth month with the baby due in February. Emily and Sy got married couple years ago in one of the most beautiful places. Oddly I had never shot there before but it was spectacular for a summer wedding. Emily chose the most amazing colors too. It just blended with the scenery so perfectly. A beautiful brilliant blue and lime green. Perfect for a summer wedding. And with 2 years of marriage under their belts they are onto their next adventure expecting their first child. I was thrilled when she wanted me to shoot her maternity portraits. Emily and Sy love to ride bikes in the greenway at the art museum so we decided that would be the perfect place for for the maternity section. And for my first time shooting there – I LOVED it! The museum itself was closed but the greenway with all the amazing sculptures and landscaping even brought the winter blahs of outdoors alive! Here is a sneak peek!

Cheers! Diane
