Oh how I do love photographing weddings. You really get to see people at their best (despite the stress). I have been looking forward to this wedding since we sat down close to a year ago to meet about it. I shot Melinda’s older sister’s wedding about a year ago. I remember Melinda and Ryan on the dance floor from her wedding. They were so sweet. I guess I should have known then that I would be seeing them walk down the aisle not too much later. Melinda was the picture perfect bride. Her dress fit her perfectly with the beautiful flowing material that makes you want to take her out in the wind and let it flow in the breeze. There were so many favorite parts of this wedding for me. The first without a doubt was Melinda when the minister was about to pronounce them man and wife. You could tell from her face it was coming. I have photographed many weddings in the last 10 years and I think this was without a doubt the biggest, most excited smile I have ever seen at this moment in the wedding. You could see she was just dying of the excitement for the minister to say, “and now you may kiss the bride”. The ceremony was beautiful too. The minister talked about the things the couple liked about each other. There was many wonderful qualities but when Melinda said she loved Ryan’s smile I could not have agreed more. He was an absolute joy to shoot with that big, gorgeous smile. Then we were off the to reception. The families were amazing. You could see where Ryan got his smile from… MOM NO DOUBT. I don’t think I saw her all night without a smile on her face. And Melinda’s mother was her usual picture of grace. So kind and thoughtful to every person in the room. Leanne who you could tell had worked so hard on so many of the beautiful details and helping to make the day run smoothly as a great maid of honor and big sister would… My next favorite moment (and you will see from the pictures) was the father / daughter dance. First he had me crying when he started to cry. The last of his babies was getting married. But then they broke out into an absolute hysterical routine with a ton of different excerpts from different songs. All I can say is AWESOME! And Ryan’s Dad was just smiling from ear to ear. Hmmm… Ok so maybe Ryan could have gotten that smile from Dad too??? And lastly Ryan’s sister, she was so excited for the day. Standing by her brother for almost all of the event. And the best part – IT DIDN’T RAIN! Oh yes, the weather man called for it but God smiled on Melinda and Ryan and kept it at bay till literally 15 minutes after the wedding concluded. How perfect is that??? Congratulations Melinda & Ryan! It was a beautiful wedding. Enjoy your honeymoon!!!
